In the footsteps of St Bernard
A journey of faith between Palermo and Agrigento
The “In the Footsteps of Saint Bernard” trail is a spiritual and nature-filled journey that crosses western Sicily from Corleone to Sciacca, retracing the life of the Capuchin friar Saint Bernard of Corleone.
Comprising 10 stages between the provinces of Palermo and Agrigento, the route winds its way through ancient villages, convents, nature reserves, and unspoiled landscapes, offering a pilgrimage experience that combines faith, art, and discovery of the territory.
Signposted along the entire route, the trail can also be traveled in stages and is designed for anyone who wants to combine spirituality, culture, and slow tourism.
An official credential accompanies pilgrims to the last stage, where they can receive the “Testimonium” certifying their pilgrimage.
