Sicily is a land of authentic flavors, many of which are rooted in the island’s peasant and vegetable traditions. This 3-day tour of eastern Sicily is designed for lovers of vegetarian cuisine, but it is also perfect for those who want to discover the more genuine face of Sicilian gastronomy.

The itinerary passes through historic markets, baroque towns and small seaside villages, where each dish tells a story of territory, seasons and culture.

Day 1 – Catania: market and cuisine of Etna

Stroll among the colorful stalls of “La Pescheria” market, where fruit, vegetable and spice wonders are also hidden among the fish. Discover vegetarian dishes typical of the area: caponata, eggplant parmigiana, buttery arancini, pasta alla Norma.

Dinner at a slow food trattoria at the foot of Mount Etna.

Day 2 – Modica and Scicli: baroque and raw chocolate

Visit the wonderful baroque towns of Modica and Scicli, UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Taste Modica IGP chocolate, cold-processed according to Aztec tradition.

Lunch with local vegetarian dishes: cavatelli with tenerumi, soups of local legumes and vegetables, pane cunzato.

Evening among historic alleys and typical small restaurants.

Day 3 – Noto and Marzamemi: flavors and scents of the sea

Stroll through the architectural wonders of Noto, capital of Sicilian Baroque.

Take an excursion and lunch in Marzamemi, a seaside village with a unique atmosphere, where vegetarian tradition blends with seafood cuisine.

Taste of local cheeses, sun-dried tomatoes, artisanal preserves, salads with citrus and capers.
