There are 16 “Blue Flags” in Sicily in 2026.

The ranking is drawn up every year by the Foundation for Environmental Education, the Danish NGO that awards the recognition based on quality parameters such as water cleanliness and the quality of the services offered.

The new entries? There are two new Blue Flags: Ispica and Lipari.

With the new entries, the Messina area now counts ten locations awarded with the recognition. Confirmed locations include Alì Terme, Nizza di Sicilia, Santa Teresa di Riva, Letojanni, Mazzeo in Taormina, Messina, Furci Siculo, Roccalumera and Tusa. These are joined by Lipari, with the beaches of Vulcano Gelso, Acqua Calda, Canneto, Vulcano Acque Termali and Stromboli Ficogrande.

The province of Ragusa confirms the beaches of Marina di Modica and Maganuco in Modica, Pietre Nere and Raganzino in Pozzallo, Marina di Ragusa and Sampieri – Pisciotto in Scicli. Among the new entries for 2026 is also Ispica, with Santa Maria del Focallo.

Also confirmed is the beach of Menfi, in the province of Agrigento, with Lido Fiori Bertolino and Porto Palo Cipollazzo.

Among the 87 Italian tourist marinas awarded, the marinas of Capo d’Orlando Marina and Marina del Nettuno in Messina have also been confirmed. The latter also confirms its Blue Flag for good environmental practices.
