Sailing Sicily: from Palermo to Mondello and Capo Gallo

Detail

This is the ideal itinerary for those who want to have anadventure out on the sea in western Sicily but don’t have much free time!

From Marina di Villa Igiea set sail in the direction of Capo Gallo, the vast Protected Marine Area located in front of Monte Gallo, between the seaside villages of Mondello and Sferracavallo. If you

have rented a sailboat with a skipper, you can decide together to drop anchor and dive into the clear waters of the reserve. If you love snorkelling or there are kids on board who want to explore the underwater world, we suggest you get yourself a mask and tube to admire the numerous specimens of marine fauna that inhabit these waters, such as redfish, moray eels or starfish.

After taking a break for a couple of hours, head towards the nearby Gulf of Mondello, where the magnificent experience of swimming in clear waters with a sandy bottom awaits you. Here, in front of what was once a small fishing village and which became a seaside resort with several Art Nouveau-style villas at the beginning of the twentieth century, including the famous “Charleston” factory, we will open the awning and let ourselves lulled by the sea’s waves.

Discover the five-day itinerary that will allow you to discover Trapani, San Vito lo Capo and the Egadi islands,

or go towards Messina, where the one-day tour from Milazzo to Vulcano awaits you!
