ViniMilo 2025

Description

From September 1st to 14th, 2025, the picturesque Etnean village of Milo will host the 45th edition of ViniMilo, the traditional event celebrating Etna wines and Sicilian food excellence. A symbolic celebration of heroic viticulture on the slopes of Europe’s highest active volcano, this festival attracts thousands of wine lovers, industry professionals, and tourists from all over Italy and abroad every year.

An event that boosts the territory
ViniMilo is much more than a wine festival: it is a cultural, economic, and social platform showcasing the passion and dedication of local winemakers. Over the past eight years, the number of Etna Bianco Superiore Doc producers in Milo has risen to 43, with 56 hectares of vineyards (+80%) and around 4,000 quintals of grapes harvested. There is also an increase in micro-enterprises in hospitality and fine dining—clear indicators of a sustainable development model rooted in the region.

Tastings, masterclasses, and discussions
The 2025 edition will feature masterclasses led by sommeliers and experts, wine tastings, roundtables, and opportunities for dialogue between institutions, wineries, and the local community. Gastronomy ambassadors will also explore unique food and wine pairings inspired by Sicilian cuisine.

A leading role will be played by Etna Bianco Superiore Doc, a signature wine of the region made exclusively from Carricante grapes grown in the Milo area, in accordance with a strict set of production rules ensuring quality and distinctiveness.

ViniMilo Preview: a summer taste
Ahead of the September edition, Milo has already welcomed visitors with the “ViniMilo 2025 Preview”, held on June 13 and 14. A small open-air festival with Etna Doc wine tastings, Sicilian specialties, Slow Food Presidia, and local delicacies. It was also a chance to promote Sicily as European Region of Gastronomy 2025 and highlight the strong bond between food culture and experiential tourism.

Looking to the future with strong roots
The event is organized by the Municipality of Milo and Proloco Milo, in collaboration with the Regional Department of Agriculture, IRVO, Slow Food Catania, the Etna Doc Wine Consortium, and the Wine and Flavors Route of Etna.

This 45th edition marks a major milestone for a community that has believed in and invested in viticulture, high-quality tourism, and landscape enhancement.
