Taormina is a hillside town on the east coast of Sicily. It is located near Mount Etna, an active volcano with trails leading to the summit. The town is known for the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, an ancient Greek-Roman theatre that is still in use today. Near the theatre, cliffs descend to the sea, forming coves with sandy beaches. A narrow strip of sand connects to the tiny Isola Bella, which is a nature reserve.
