2026 Carnival of Acireale

From January 31st to February 17th, 2026, the Baroque city of Acireale becomes the grandest open-air stage in Sicily.

The festival celebrates the ingenuity of master craftsmen with parades of monumental allegorical-grotesque floats, papier-mâché giants blending satire with mechanical movements, alongside the beauty of flower floats and individual masks. The 2026 Carnival of Acireale is a year-round story told through its three icons: Lavica, embodying the volcano’s energy in winter; Zagara, the symbol of spring blossoms; and Ionica, the sunny soul of the summer editions.

Attending this event means diving into a tradition of lights, flowers, and creativity, where artisanal mastery meets the festive spirit of a city that lives and breathes Carnival in every season.
