Parasailing

Detail

In the mood for an adrenaline rush? How would you like to feel like James Bond in the hectic acrobatic parasailing scene? In Sicily you can!

The term “parasailor” is a neologism that derives from the English aeronautical term “paragliding“, combined with the English verb “to sail“.

In this sport, also known as “parakiting”, the parasailor is towed into the air by a parachute towed by a motorboat.

When the boat departs, the force of the air exerted on the parachute takes the parasailor up into the air. If the boat is powerful enough, two or three other parasailors can be pulled up simultaneously. The parasailing altitude can be changed at any time, by increasing or decreasing the height above the sea at will by adjusting the boat’s speed.

During the flight, you have no control over the parachute itself. Parasailing is suitable for all ages and requires no physical or theoretical training.

Parasailing can be practised in the major Sicilian seaside resorts, in particular Trapani, Palermo and Catania.

Among the most beautiful and popular destinations in Sicily, the coast of Baia Giardini Naxos stands out: it is no coincidence that Taormina is one of the world’s best-known tourist resorts.

Everywhere, thrills, excitement and breathtaking views are guaranteed!
