Marsala is an Italian municipality with a population of 79,593. It is the largest municipality in the Trapani Free Municipal Consortium and the fifth largest in Sicily. The city is famous for the landing of Garibaldi and his Thousand on May 11, 1860, and for the production of the wine of the same name, Marsala, for which it has been a City of Wine since 1987.
