Imagine seeing the floor of an entire street covered with colourful petals that shape into enormous designs.
We are in Noto, where the third Sunday of May, the central street via Nicolaci is the protagonist of the traditional Baroque Flower Festival.
Teams of young artists use millions of flower petals to adorn the floor of the street shaping elaborate multicoloured designs. It is a Baroque representation dating back to the 1600s and it was created in Rome to celebrate Corpus Christi.
This year the 36th edition of the Flower festival of Noto, a Baroque spring pays homage to Catalonia, the designs being inspired by this characteristic Spanish region.
