Italy’s Treasures – The 20th Century of the Foundations
Detail
A journey through 20th-century Italian art featuring 25 masterpieces by greats such as De Chirico, Fontana, Burri, and Carla Accardi—one from each region. The exhibition “Italy’s Treasures – The 20th Century of the Foundations,” set in Villa Aurea within the stunning Valley of the Temples, weaves together Futurism, Metaphysical Art, Spatialism, and Abstraction, telling the story of the nation’s cultural identity. Curated by Pierluigi Carofano and Anna Ciccarelli, it is promoted by the Valley of the Temples Park and the Progetto Museo Consortium, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Sicilian Region. A unique opportunity to discover rarely seen works from Italy’s major Foundations, in a dialogue between art, history, and place.
