Due Siciliae Festival – II edizione

From 29 August to 4 October 2026, the Due Siciliae Festival returns, an International Music Festival now in its second edition, organised by AreaSud. The event was created with the aim of building a cultural bridge between Sicily, the Mediterranean and the rest of Europe, with particular attention to the artistic connection with the Neapolitan tradition.

The programme brings together different musical languages, from classical music to jazz, from world music to folk traditions, combining concerts with meetings, masterclasses and training activities aimed especially at young musicians. The Festival also devotes space to the protection and promotion of intangible heritage such as the Opera dei Pupi.

One of the central moments of this edition takes place from 4 to 6 September in Gravina di Catania, in the spaces of the Villa Comunale, with three days of events ranging from Celtic atmospheres and classical wind ensembles to Neapolitan songs, jazz and Mediterranean world music.

The programme also includes events in different venues, with performers and ensembles from various countries. Featured acts include the Sicily Folk Orchestra, Ebbanesis, the Duae Siciliae Sax Ensemble, the concert by the Camerata Polifonica Siciliana with Linda Hedlund, and the Latvian vocal group Saucējas.

Alongside established artists, the Due Siciliae Festival places particular emphasis on younger generations, creating opportunities for training, dialogue and exchange, and transforming the venues hosting the events into spaces dedicated to listening and cultural interaction.
