2026 International Kite Festival

From 20 to 24 May 2026, San Vito Lo Capo, overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Trapani coast, will host the 16th edition of the International Kite Festival, one of the most evocative and eagerly awaited events of the Sicilian spring season. Conceived by Ignazio Billera and organised by the Municipality of San Vito Lo Capo, the festival transforms the sky above the seaside village into a mosaic of colours, shapes and movements, with the participation of kite flyers from all over the world.

Between the silhouette of Monte Monaco and the blue of the Mediterranean, dozens of acrobatic, giant and artistic kites soar through the air, offering a spectacle capable of enchanting visitors of all ages. Alongside the displays, the event features creative workshops, educational activities, entertainment and the ‘Wind Fair’, showcasing local crafts and specialities.

The highlight is the Night of the Illuminated Kites, when lights and music bring the sky to life in a magical atmosphere. The International Kite Festival thus kicks off the summer season in San Vito Lo Capo, celebrating the wind as an element of play, art and community.
