Now in its 65th edition, this is the oldest festival of sacred music in Europe.
The Sicilian Symphony Orchestra organises this prestigious event with the Municipalities of Monreale and Palermo, the Sicilian Region and the Teatro Massimo Foundation. The Ministry for Cultural Heritage patronises it.
In this context, the Week of Sacred Music represents the most important artistic event in Sicily and attracts a notable audience to the Norman town to listen to concerts of excellent quality with artists of great prestige.
This free public event is held in the splenditi and fascinating setting of the Arab-Norman Cathedral, a UNESCO world heritage site.
