Rievocazione storica della venuta di Federico IV d’Aragona

In the heart of the Nebrodi hills, the village of San Piero Patti relives its past with the Historical Reenactment of the arrival of Federico IV of Aragon.

The 2025 edition takes participants back to 1356, when the king stayed at the local castle, listened to his people, and acknowledged their just revolt against the barons. Through medieval processions, period costumes, flag-wavers, jugglers and the famous Living Royal Chess (Dama Castellana) — a human chess game — the historic core becomes an open-air stage.

Shows, artisan stalls, itinerant performances and tastings complete an immersive journey that blends memory, art and community.
