Nivarata – International Sicilian Granita Festival

The event will take place along the streets of the city centre of Acireale from 24 to 26 May 2024.

Personalities from the world of ice cream and international gastronomy will participate, involving the public with demonstrations of the preparation of granitas, ice creams, and traditional Sicilian dishes.

A Nivarata is a name inspired by the nivaroli, i.e. those people who used to go to the mountains to get snow and then use it, together with lemon or orange juice or coffee, to create a refreshing sorbet during the summer.
