Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa Literary Prize

Detail

The prestigious “Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa” International Literary Prize is pleased to announce its winner for the 2024 edition: the French writer Pierre Michon.

Michon, 79, was chosen by the special commission for his work ‘Vite minuscule’, considered a masterpiece of contemporary French literature. Written when the author was 34 years old, this book caught the attention of the literary world, leading to Michon’s works being translated into numerous languages, including German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, Serbian, Czech, Norwegian and English.

The proclamation ceremony was held in June in the evocative premises of Palazzo Filangeri di Cutò in Santa Margherita di Belice. However, the official awarding of the prize will take place in a public ceremony on 3 August 2024 in Piazza Matteotti.
