Castelbuono running tour

The Castelbuono International Running Tour is one of the most prestigious and long-running road races in Europe. Created in 1912, it takes place every year on July 26, in conjunction with the Feast of St. Anne, patron saint of the Madonite village. The race, nicknamed “La Cursa di Sant’Anna,” runs along a city circuit of 1,134 meters, to be repeated ten times, for a total of 11.34 kilometers, through the picturesque streets of Castelbuono’s historic center.

The course, starting and finishing in Piazza Margherita, is distinguished by its challenging climbs, technical descents and tight turns, offering athletes a unique and engaging challenge.

In addition to the main competition, the event includes side events such as the “Baby Run”, reserved for toddlers, and the “Vintage Race”, where participants wear vintage clothing, celebrating the long tradition of running.
