Etnabook
description
Etnabook, the international book and culture festival of Catania, has become a true reference point for the promotion of reading and the enhancement of the territory.
Born with the aim of placing the book at the center of a wide and participatory cultural project, the festival goes beyond the days of the event and works throughout the year with widespread initiatives. Among them are “Aspettando Etnabook” and BookCrossing houses, which have brought books and meetings to Catania’s neighborhoods.
The No_Name Cultural Association, led by Cirino Cristaldi, collaborates with schools, libraries, and institutions as part of the “Catania City of Reading” program, supported by the Ministry of Culture.
At the heart of the festival is the “Etnabook – Culture under the Volcano” Literary Prize, divided into poetry, fiction/essay, and “A Book in a Page”, attracting authors from all over Italy and abroad.
The new feature this year is EtnaKids, a competition dedicated to high school students, created in memory of journalist Giuseppe Scatà.
With a rich program of workshops, presentations, and meetings, Etnabook continues to build a true ecosystem of reading in the heart of Sicily.
