Borgo in Musica 2026

From 6 August to 5 September 2026, San Marco d’Alunzio will host the 16th edition of “Borgo in Musica”, a festival dedicated to musical education and live music. For a month, the historic centre of this village in the province of Messina will be transformed into a widespread hub of culture and community, welcoming musicians, teachers and young talents through masterclasses, camps, seminars, workshops, concerts and recitals.

The programme spans various genres and instruments, with courses dedicated to voice, percussion, the clarinet, the trombone, the trumpet, the saxophone, the accordion, the double bass and the flute. Among the activities on the programme are the Summer Performance Voice with Fabio Lazzara, percussion masterclasses with Giuseppe Cacciola, the camp led by Giovanni Caruso and the seminar ‘Once Upon a Time There Was Music’ with Federica Galletti and Paola Anselmi.

From 10 to 12 August, the Clarinet Campus with Giuseppe Federico Corpina is scheduled, whilst from 17 to 19 August, the Trombone Brass Ensemble Campus will be led by Roberto Basile. These will be followed by the trumpet masterclass with Ermanno Ottaviani and Marco Vicario, the workshop on the evolution of Romagna folk music with Roberto Liverani and Gabriele Zaccherini, and the saxophone masterclass with Alessandro Malagnino.

The programme also includes the Saxophone Summer Camp with the Sikelia Saxophone Quartet, the Music School Summer Camp, the Accordion Camp with Saria Convertino, the Double Bass Camp with Damiano D’Amico, and the flute masterclass with Davide Formisano.

Concerts and recitals linked to the individual courses will run throughout the event, alongside the events of the ‘Notti al Castello 2026’ concert season. Borgo in Musica thus renews the bond between education, performance and the local area, filling the streets and historic spaces of San Marco d’Alunzio with music.
