2026 Ashes Cup

From 24 to 27 September and from 1 to 4 October 2026, Palermo’s Parco della Favorita will host a new edition of the Ashes Cup, one of the most prestigious events on the international equestrian calendar. With over half a century of history, the competition is considered, after the one in Siena, the oldest international equestrian competition in Italy and is one of the most eagerly awaited sporting events on the national equestrian scene.

Recognised by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), the event attracts riders from numerous countries every year, who compete in show jumping trials on one of Europe’s most picturesque competition grounds. The Favorita course, set amidst lush greenery and framed by the natural landscape surrounding Palermo, offers a unique setting that adds to the competition’s prestige.

At the heart of the event is the Ashes Cup Grand Prix, established in 1976, which throughout its history has seen some of the greatest names in international show jumping compete. The Favorita arena has hosted champions who have written important chapters in the history of the discipline, helping to cement the event’s reputation as a veritable ‘mini-Olympics’ of equestrian sport.

The Ashes Cup thus offers the chance to witness top-level competitions in an exceptional scenic setting, experiencing first-hand the elegance, technique and excitement of one of Sicily’s most iconic sporting events.
