Aci Trezza

Detail

Aci Trezza is a seaside village famous for its basalt sea stacks and the authentic atmosphere of the Cyclops Riviera. The landscape is dominated by black rocks formed by eruptions of Mount Etna, which create a spectacular contrast with the blue of the sea.

The village is also linked to the myths narrated by Homer, adding further charm to a place already rich in history and tradition.

The Faraglioni dei Ciclopi: natural symbol of the coast

The Faraglioni dei Ciclopi are the symbol of Aci Trezza. These imposing basalt rocks emerge from the sea in a unique landscape. According to legend, Polyphemus hurled them at Ulysses during his escape.

Today, the area is part of the Marine Nature Reserve. For this reason, the waters are clear and rich in marine fauna, ideal for snorkeling and diving.

The small port of Aci Trezza and the fishing village

The small port of Aci Trezza still retains its maritime identity. The colorful boats, nets, and comings and goings of the fishermen tell of a tradition that is still alive today.

In addition, the seafront offers a pleasant stroll among bars, ice cream parlors, and terraces overlooking the sea. Here you can breathe in a simple and authentic atmosphere, typical of the villages of eastern Sicily.

Sapori del mare e tradizioni locali

The cuisine of Aci Trezza is rich in dishes based on fresh fish. The village’s trattorias offer fried fish, fish soups, pasta with seafood, and grilled fish. There is also no shortage of granita, typical desserts, and traditional island appetizers.
