Miró – The Joy of Colour
Detail
Catania hosts an exhibition dedicated to the great Catalan master Joan Mirò.
From 20 January to 7 July, the Palazzo della Cultura will host “Miró – The Joy of Colour”, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva in collaboration with MaïthéVallès, Bled and Vincenzo Sanfo.
The exhibition brings together around one hundred works covering a period of around sixty years, from 1924 to 1981: paintings, temperas, watercolours, drawings, sculptures and ceramics, as well as a series of graphic works, books and documents from private Italian collections and French galleries.
To enrich and expand the exhibition itinerary, with its dual chronological and thematic reading, there will also be a photographic and video section that will explore some aspects of the surrealist artist’s private and public life.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 09.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 09.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
