Costaiblea Film Festival 2026

From 10 to 13 September 2026, the Costaiblea Film Festival returns to Marina di Ragusa, celebrating its 30th edition this year with a programme dedicated to Sicilian cinema, its authors, and the links between territory, memory and new forms of storytelling. Events will take place in Piazza Torre, Villa Ottaviano and along Lungomare Andrea Doria.

The 2026 edition places particular emphasis on Luigi Pirandello and the relationship between his work and cinema, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of his death. Villa Ottaviano will host the exhibition Pirandello and Cinema, accompanied by the video installation Pirandello in Cinema: Many Masks and Few Faces and the immersive experience Ad Sidera. Once Upon a Time There Was the Sky.

The programme brings together screenings, documentaries, meetings with directors and actors, masterclasses and in-depth discussions. Guests include Aurora Quattrocchi, featured in a meeting followed by the screening of Gioia mia; Fabrizio Bentivoglio, who will hold a masterclass and receive the “Carrubo d’oro”; and Costanza Quatriglio, featured in the closing event with a masterclass and the screening of Il cassetto segreto.

There will also be space for productions linked to the local area, with the sections “La Provincia iblea produce”, “Cinema degli Iblei” and “Registi siciliani”, alongside the Premio Costaiblea Giovane Cinema, a competition reserved for Sicilian filmmakers under 30. The evening screenings will also feature films linked to the cinematic history of the Iblean coast, including Kaos, Gente di rispetto, L’uomo delle stelle and Divorzio all’italiana.

The Festival thus unfolds as a journey through contemporary cinema, cinematic memory and local productions, bringing authors, actors, young filmmakers and audiences into dialogue across the venues of Marina di Ragusa.
