Ragusa Foto Festival 2026

From 27 August to 27 September 2026, Ragusa Foto Festival returns for its 14th edition. Founded in 2012, the festival is dedicated to the different languages of contemporary photography and every year offers exhibitions, meetings and training activities involving Italian and international photographers, artists, critics and cultural professionals.

The theme of the 2026 edition is “Mediterranean Archetypes” and develops a reflection on the territories, communities and transformations currently affecting the Mediterranean. Through photography, the Festival explores issues related to local identities, depopulation and social, economic and environmental change, bringing together different experiences and perspectives.

The opening days, from 27 to 30 August, accompany the launch of the exhibitions with guided visits alongside artists and curators, meetings, seminars, portfolio reviews and opportunities for discussion on visual languages. The programme also includes events exploring the relationship between photography, writing and storytelling, as well as meetings dedicated to the Mediterranean, its territories and the communities of Southern Italy.

The exhibitions continue until 27 September in several venues in Ragusa Ibla: Palazzo Cosentini, Palazzo La Rocca and San Vincenzo Ferreri, while the Giardino Ibleo hosts various events included in the programme.

Ragusa Foto Festival also pays particular attention to young photographers and education, complementing the exhibitions with workshops, seminars and portfolio reviews, in a programme that uses photography as a tool to observe and interpret contemporary society.
