Fausto Pirandello. The magic of everyday life
Detail
From 20 March to 2 June 2026, Villa Aurea in the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento will host the exhibition “Fausto Pirandello. The magic of everyday life”, dedicated to one of the leading figures in 20th-century Italian art.
Curated by Fabio Benzi and Flavia Matitti and organised by the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome together with the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples, in collaboration with the Fausto Pirandello Association, the exhibition brings together around thirty paintings from the artist’s masterpieces and a significant collection of works on paper, with particular attention to pastels, his favourite technique after the Second World War. The exhibition offers a chronological overview of his artistic research, tracing his transition from the existential realism of his early work to his ‘abstract-concrete’ language. The Agrigento exhibition has a symbolic value as a return to his roots, to the Sicilian land that helped nurture the artist’s visual sensibility and poetics.
A journey into the creative universe of Fausto Pirandello, where everyday life is transformed into poetic material between memory, Mediterranean light and artistic experimentation.
