Palermo-Montecarlo Regatta

From August 19-24, 2025, the Mediterranean Sea is preparing to host one of its most prestigious and fascinating regattas: the Palermo-Montecarlo. This offshore competition, created in 2005, unites two historically linked cities, Palermo and the Principality of Monaco, in an unparalleled maritime adventure.

The Palermo-Montecarlo, organized by the Circolo della Vela Sicilia and the Yacht Club de Monaco, with the collaboration of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, is more than just a regatta. It is a journey that challenges the participants’ nautical skills while offering a breathtaking scenic spectacle.

Starting from the picturesque Gulf of Mondello, the boats will ply the waters of the Mediterranean until they reach the glamorous Principality of Monaco. The technically challenging course will test even the most experienced sailors, making the competition compelling until the last mile.

Since 2015, the Palermo-Montecarlo has been part of the prestigious IMA – Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge circuit, a trophy reserved for Maxi Yachts that includes the most important offshore races in the Mediterranean. This inclusion further underlines the prestige and importance of the event in the international sailing scene.
