Organ Festival Ricami d’Aria in Regalbuto: a heritage to discover
Dettaglio
From 9 to 30 November 2024, the Chiesa Madre di San Basilio in Regalbuto (EN) will host the Ricami d’Aria Organ Festival, an event dedicated to enhancing Sicily’s rich organ heritage. Sicily, with over a thousand historical organs built between the 16th and 19th centuries, is a unique reference point for organ music.
The stars of the festival will be the church’s two historical organs, built by the famous Donato Del Piano in 1742 and 1775. The opportunity to hear them play together offers an extraordinary sound experience, enhancing the art and craftsmanship that characterises them.
The programme, which combines concerts, seminars and master classes, allows visitors to discover the secrets of these instruments and immerse themselves in the organ music tradition.
Below is the Festival programme
- 9 November 2024, 7:30 p.m. – Mozart’s Church Sonatas.
- 16 November 2024, 7:30 p.m. – Sacred Arias from the Italian Tradition.
- 29 November 2024, 7:30 p.m. – Musical Journey through 18th Century Europe.
