Acireale Flower Festival 2026

From 30 April to 3 May 2026, Acireale celebrates the Flower Festival, one of the most enchanting events of the Sicilian spring, transforming the town into a vast open-air garden.

The stars of the event are the flower-covered floats – veritable works of art in motion created from thousands of petals – which parade through the streets of the historic centre, telling stories of tradition, creativity and imagination. Alongside the parades, floral installations and decorations throughout the city enrich the urban landscape, creating an immersive journey through colours and scents.

The programme kicks off on 30 April with exhibitions, markets, masterclasses and entertainment bringing the heart of the city to life. On 1 May, to mark Labour Day, Acireale hosts a major concert lasting the whole day, accompanied by side events and artistic initiatives. The 2nd and 3rd of May represent the festival’s highlight, with parades of flower-covered floats accompanied by performances by majorettes, flag-wavers, folk groups and street artists. Shows, folk traditions and the Opera dei Pupi round off a rich and varied programme, capable of engaging audiences of all ages.

The Acireale Flower Festival offers an experience that combines ephemeral art, tradition and participation, inviting visitors to experience the Sicilian spring through one of the region’s most iconic and distinctive events.
