On the same street we will spot other views taken in the fiction: from the Church of San Michele<\/strong> to the old Cartia pharmacy<\/strong>, from the Church of Santa Teresa<\/strong> to Palazzo Spadaro<\/strong> (the office of the mayor of Vigata<\/strong>). Let’s now move on to Piazza Italia<\/strong> and the Cava di San Bartolomeo<\/strong>. These locations are frequently filmed in the series. Every view of the town will remind us of the fiction.<\/p>\n

Donnalucata and<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>Sampieri: Marinella and M\u00e0nnara seafront<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\n

Proceeding to the seaside resorts of Scicli, we reach Donnalucata<\/strong> and Sampieri<\/strong>. Donnalucata in the movie is the Marinella seafront<\/strong>. In Sampieri instead, you will recognise the <\/strong>M\u00e0nnara<\/strong>. During summer, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea and, if you love the nightlife<\/strong>, stop by in the evening and get in with the crowds.<\/p>\n

Ispica<\/b><\/h2>\n

Moving south-east we arrive in Ispica<\/strong>. Here we can visit the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore<\/strong>, the Loggiato del Sinatra<\/strong>, and, not far away, the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata<\/strong>: these places are featured in several episodes of the series. An escape to the wild beaches<\/strong> of the coastline will lead us to discover another place featured in the fiction: the coves of Punta Cirica<\/strong>. A swim in these crystal-clear waters is almost a must.<\/p>\n

Modica<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We now return northwards, to Modica<\/strong>. When Livia arrives in Vigata by bus, the Inspector picks her upright here, at the Duomo di San Giorgio<\/strong>, which is an impressive Baroque structure. The church overlooks a hanging garden where Dr Pasquano’s house is set. Now you can go down to \u201c Lower Modica\u201d and walk along Corso Umberto I<\/strong>: once here we will recognise the Tommaso Campailla High School<\/strong> and the Cultural Palace<\/strong>. Both of these sites appear in the fiction.<\/p>\n

Ragusa Ibla<\/b><\/h2>\n

In Ragusa Ibla,<\/strong> you can visit the stunning Cathedral of San Giorgio<\/strong> and its square. Close to Piazza Duomo<\/strong> there’s the Circolo di Conversazione<\/strong>, where Montalbano often meets Doctor Pasquano. Get lost in the narrow streets of Ragusa Ibla: every view will seem familiar.<\/p>\n

Castello di Donnafugata: the house of Balduccio Sinagra<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Heading down towards the sea, we come across the house of Balduccio Sinagra, the boss of the tv fiction. His house is the magnificent Castello di Donnafugata<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Puntasecca: Montalbano’s famous house<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\n

Proceeding towards Puntasecca<\/strong> you will find Montalbano’s famous house<\/strong>, with its stunning terrace overlooking the horizon. Here you can also see the famous restaurant Enzo a Mare<\/em>.
\nTake some time to enjoy the sea where the Inspector likes to swim and wait until the water turns red at sunset.<\/p>\n
