The festivities that take place in Messina<\/strong> <\/a>on August 15th<\/strong> in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption<\/strong> are preceded by an originai and spectacular procession that is repeated<\/p>\n

for five days and\u00a0 which has as protagonists two colossal statues of giants<\/strong> on horseback, the Messinese Mata<\/strong> and the Moor Grifone<\/strong>, conqueror of the city.<\/p>\n
